You're in for an unforgettable experience! When you arrive at Copper Spur Ranch, you'll be greeted with genuine western hospitality and shown to your lodging. Check-in is simple and relaxed—no long lines or fancy counters here. Your group will enjoy access to trail rides, scenic hikes, fishing, kayaking, and evenings around the fire pit under star-filled skies. We also offer seasonal ranch activities and immersive options like horseback adventures and cattle care. Meals may vary by package, but all guests receive a warm welcome and a bottle of wine to kick things off. The nearest stores are a scenic drive away, so we recommend bringing your favorites with you.

We love animals, but for the safety of your pets and ours, we do not allow pets at the Main Guest House, the homestead area, or near the barns. These areas are active parts of our working ranch, with livestock, horses, and other animals that may not mix well with visiting pets.

That said, pets are welcome at the Glamping Tent and the Casita at Fish Rock, where there’s plenty of space to roam and relax. If you're bringing a pet, just let us know in advance so we can help you prepare for a safe and peaceful stay.

We offer Starlink Wi-Fi at the main ranch house, but there is typically no cell service and no Wi-Fi coverage across the rest of the property. It’s the perfect opportunity to unplug from screens and reconnect with nature, family, and fresh mountain air.

We recommend dressing in layers and packing for mountain weather—think cozy hoodies, durable boots, hats, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, a flashlight or headlamp, and your favorite snacks or drinks. Don’t forget a camera! For a detailed checklist, check out our [What to Pack] page.

  • Main Guest House: Sleeps 10 comfortably (Master bedroom on the main floor, plus a spacious upstairs bunkroom).
  • Glamping Tent (Yurt): Sleeps 2
  • Fish Rock Casita: Sleeps 2
  • Canvas Tents (optional setup): Great for additional guests who want a rustic outdoor sleeping experience under the stars.

Depending on your group size and preferences, we can tailor your stay for both comfort and adventure.

The Main Guest House includes full indoor bathrooms with showers for your comfort. Our other accommodations—the Glamping Yurt, Fish Casita, and canvas tents—are more rustic and feature outhouses for your bathroom needs. We keep them clean and well-stocked, offering an authentic off-grid experience.

There’s so much more to explore at Copper Spur Ranch! In addition to scenic trail rides, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including:

  • Clay shooting range
  • Trout Fishing
  • Kayaking on our private pond
  • Campfires under the stars
  • Hiking through wide-open ranchland and forests
  • Wildlife spotting and photography

Whether you're seeking high-adventure or peaceful relaxation, there’s something here for everyone. For a full list of options, head over to our [Additional Activities] page.

For your safety, we require riders to wear flat-soled boots or shoes with a heel. The flat sole allows your foot to slip out of the stirrup easily, while the heel prevents it from slipping through—both are essential for a safe ride.

If you plan to wear a hat while riding (which we recommend for longer rides due to the strong sun), please make sure it has a stampede string to secure it.

Not at all! We welcome beginners and experienced riders alike. Our trained horses and friendly guides make sure every rider feels safe and confident on the trail.

Yes, with prior approval. Guests may bring their own off-road vehicles to explore designated ranch areas. For safety and land preservation, we ask that all vehicles stay on approved paths and follow ranch guidelines.

We are a seasonal destination, typically open from late spring through early fall. Some hunting packages and private stays may be available in colder months—please inquire for specific availability.

Yes, we require a 2-night minimum stay, but we highly recommend staying 4 nights or more to truly experience everything Copper Spur Ranch has to offer—from trail rides and fishing to quiet evenings under the stars. Longer stays allow for deeper connection, more adventure, and time to fully unplug. For retreats, family reunions, or group bookings, extended stays may be required—feel free to reach out to customize your experience.

Absolutely! Copper Spur Ranch is family-friendly and offers a wide range of kid-approved activities, from horseback rides and fishing to nature walks and stargazing. Just keep an eye on little ones around animals and open water.

While we’re in a remote location, the closest emergency services are approximately 45–60 minutes away. We always have first-aid supplies on-site and recommend guests bring any personal medications and emergency contacts with them.

From Downtown Denver, it’s about a 2 hour and 45-minute drive to the ranch. If you're coming from Denver International Airport (DIA), plan for around 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on traffic and weather.

For the easiest and most convenient travel experience, we recommend flying into the Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), which is just over an hour from the ranch and offers a more relaxed arrival.

For detailed directions, travel tips, and seasonal considerations, be sure to visit our [Getting Here] page.

Yes! You can access the Main Guest House with a front-wheel drive vehicle or standard sedan, especially in dry conditions. However, to explore the ranch in its entirety—including off-road trails, scenic overlooks, and more rugged terrain—we highly recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle.

No 4WD? No problem. We also offer an ATV rental so you can enjoy the full range of ranch adventures without worry.

Yes, we do! Copper Spur is a BYOB ranch, so you're welcome to bring your favorite beverages to enjoy during your stay. As a warm welcome, each group also receives a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival.
